Umberto Cesari MOMA Bianco

For Umberto Cesari, producing good wine is a family tradition with deep roots in this area of Emilia Romagna It is here that Umberto and his wife Giuliana started their company in 1965 by buying 20 hectares of land in the hills. From then on, he has continually expanded and increased the quality of his wines and today the Company extends over an area of 100 hectares divided into distinct vineyards; La Casetta, Parolino, Ca Grande and Laurento, each of which provides the perfect micro-climate for the vines planted. The two wines that have created a great response from the day of release are the Moma wines. The Moma project pays homage to Bologna-born Giorgio Morandi, one of the most important Italian artists of the 20th century. A new label, dedicated to a contemporary artist is chosen by a panel of experts every three years. This year the winner was "Paper Glass" by Elena Valentini.

The grapes were softly pressed. Fermentation took place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is kept in stainless steel tanks until sterile bottled. No wood is used.

The average age of the vines is 15-20 years old. Yields per hectare are 9,000 kg. Careful canopy management enables the clusters to reach optimum maturity.

A refreshing blend of Trebbiano, Sauvignon and Chardonnay, this wine has good depth of ripe and rich grapefruit and lemon flavours combined with the freshness of Sauvignon and the creamy weight of the Chardonnay.
