Sula Vineyards Dindori Reserve Shiraz from India

The Dindori Reserve Shiraz from Sula Vineyards is one of the finest examples of Indian vegan red wine available. The Dindori region of the Nashik hills in Maharashtra has the perfect micro climate for grape growing, with high altitude, light, well-drained soils and the cooling influences of the region's lakes. This moderating climate is noticeable in this wine - despite the vibrancy and ripeness of the fruit flavours, the wine is still fresh and a mere 13.5%, something you'd be hard-pressed to find in a comparative Shiraz from South Africa, for example. Notes of cherry, plum and raspberry meld with well integrated spicy oak, running into a long and rich finish. Drink with something similarly bold, perhaps a butternut squash and sweet potato stew or, if you're as easy to please as me, simply with a big bowl of sweet potato fries.
Following fermentation, the wine was matured in French and American oak casks for 12 months. No animal-based fining agents or winery aids were used during the vinification.

Established in 1997 in the Nashik hills, Sula Vineyards were one of the pioneers of viticulture in India. Widely regarded as the nation's premium wine producer, they are committed to crafting distinctly Indian wines with contemporary and vegan-friendly winemaking techniques.
