Sula Vineyards Chenin Blanc from India
Chenin Blanc is a native of the Loire Valley, and as such likes to stay relatively cool. It may strike many as odd then that this grape has found a home in the wine regions of India, but here in Nashik, Maharashtra, it is planted at a height of 600m above sea level, far above the heat of the plains below. As a result of this cooling altitude, Sula Chenin Blanc shows delicate temperate fruit flavours in tandem with a touch of quince and a light tropical note, making a delightfully well-rounded and pleasing white wine balanced with a hint of residual sweetness. Try it with some of the more fragrant vegetarian dishes out there, maybe with the cumin scented flavours of North African cuisine or, in a nod to its' origins, with a subtly spicy lentil and spinach dhal.

The grapes were fermented in stainless steel for between 25-30 days to preserve the vibrant fruit flavours. No animal-based fining agents or winery aids were used during the vinification.

Established in 1997 in the Nashik hills, Sula Vineyards were one of the pioneers of viticulture in India. Widely regarded as the nation's premium wine producer, they are committed to crafting distinctly Indian wines with contemporary and vegan-friendly winemaking techniques.
