Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc
Saint Clair Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough
Saint Clair is one of the most respected names in New Zealand winemaking at the minute, crafting a whole range of award-winning wines, but specialising notably in Sauvignon Blanc. This wine has all the hallmarks of Marlborough Sauvignon, with bright fruit and a subtle herbaceous character, but is restrained and subtle enough not to devolve into one of those overblown, grassy fruit bombs that have dogged wine lists in recent years. Guava, passionfruit, nettles and a clean mineral streak abound. Try with grilled asparagus, or with a French bean salad on a hot day.
The grapes were vinified cool to retain their natural Marlborough fruit notes. No animal-based fining agents or winery aids were used during the vinification.
Grape variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
