Gerard Bertrand Naturalys Merlot

Winery Information:
One of the most dynamic and brilliant winemakers from the South of France, where he owns no less than seven estates among the most prestigious terroirs of Languedoc Roussillon, Gérard Bertrand was named in 2012 as the ""European Winery of the Year"" by Wine Enthusiast and ""Red Wine Maker of the Year"" by the IWC.

Viticulture:
This wine reveals the true nature of the “terroir” in this environment. Viticultural methods are built on sustainable practices. Average yield of Merlot: 55 hl/ha

Soil:
clay limestone

Vinification:
The grapes are destemmed and macerated for 15 to 20 days at a controlled temperature of 25 to 30C. Frequent pumping-over guarantees the best expression from this grape variety.

Tasting Note:
Deep red with purple tints. The nose has fruit character (blackcurrant, wild strawberries) and spices. Round and fruity with blackcurrant aromas.Elegant and well structured wine with soft tannins.

Every day serving suggestion:
This Merlot will be ideal at 18  C with mushroom risotto or vegan pasta dishes.
