One of the most dynamic and brilliant winemakers from the South of France, where he owns no less than seven estates among the most prestigious terroirs of Languedoc Roussillon, Gérard Bertrand was named in 2012 as the ""European Winery of the Year"" by Wine Enthusiast and ""Red Wine Maker of the Year"" by the IWC.
Banyuls' vines are very exposed all year long to the sun on schist soil. Average yield 30h/ha.
Harvest by hand after controlling the maturity of the grapes. After destemming and Crushing the grapes, pure alcohol is added to the must. The maceration takes place during 3 weeks.
