Grape variety: 85% Fernao Pires, 10% Moscatel, 5% Arinto
From: Peninsula de Setubal, Portugal
The Peninsula de Setubal is one of the cooler wine producing regions of Portugal, the cooling Atlantic winds forming a maritime climate that is ideally suited for the production of quality white wine grapes. Cintila is a fresh, clean and fruity white wine from Santo Isidro de Pegoes, with the Fernao Pires lending notes of ripe peach and nectarine, supported by the delicate floral nuances of the Moscatel. Crisp and refreshing, this would go well with a variety of summer salads or tapas dishes, but would work equally as well as a palate-cleansing aperitif.
In the winery, the grapes were fermented cool to retain the natural fruit flavours. No animal-based fining agents or winery aids were used during the vinification.
The Cooperativa Santo Isidro de Pegoes is one of the most respected producers in Portugal, crafting modern, vegan-friendly wines from indigenous Portuguese grape varieties.
