Bove Feudi d'Albe Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Bove Feudi d'Albe Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Italy
The Bove Feude d'Albe Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a superb example of how great vegan red wines can be! Montepulciano is a dark skinned grape with a growing reputation. It's heartland is here in the Abruzzo region of Italy, where for centuries it had produced well structured wines with dark fruit, rich spice and intriguing ageing potential. This offering from Bove is a great entry-level Montepulciano, and a fantastic example of the value for money you can find in the region.
This vegan red wine is soft and mellow (note the relatively low ABV), with a tantalising fragrance of forest fruits and brambly blackcurrant on the palate, finishing with a touch of pepper and liquorice. Delicious with an aubergine parmigiana, or with gnocchi in a sage butter sauce.
Following fermentation, the wine was aged in steel and bottle to retain the natural fruit flavours. No animal-based fining agents or winery aids were used during the vinification.
Grape variety: 100% Montepulciano
