Berton Vineyard Barossa Reserve Shiraz

This is the Berton Vineyards Barossa Shiraz sibling of Berton Vineyard's Coonawarra Reserve Cabernet and, just like its brother, is a prime example of how good affordable Australian wines can be. This has to be one of the best value for money vegan red wines available anywhere!

This is a big, big wine - deepest darkest red, with a rich, full-bodied palate of ripe blackcurrant, bramble and black cherry, with hints of pepper and a cosy mocha note. This is a great example of Barossa Valley Shiraz at an affordable price, combining the classic Aussie boldness with a fresher, more modern winemaking style. Drink it with a a hearty root vegetable stew, or a vegetarian lasagne.

After fermentation, the wine was aged in a combination of French and American oak barrels for 16 months, lending it a hint of toasty spice and vanilla. No animal-based fining agents or winery aids were used during the vinification.

Berton Vineyards is a modern, forward-looking producer, embracing the technology and possibilities of vegan winemaking.
