Ackerman Laurence Sparkling Rosé
A Laurence Sparkling Rosé NV
A Lawrence sparkling rosé wine is a delightful easy drinking wine from the Loire region of France. It's presentation is good and this sparkling wine is a firm favourite for weddings and functions. The taste is slightly fruity sweet and this makes it a great option for celebrations where sparkling wines that are too dry can please some but not all guests. This wine is in the medoium bodied style similar to Brut Prosecco.
At the start of the 19th century,a young Flemish man, Jean-Baptiste Ackerman left Antwerp for the Champagne region eager to learn all the secrets of the famous sparkling wine. A year later, armed with his knowledge, he left for the Valde Loire where he purchased 7 kilometres of the finest cellars carved out of the limestone quarries. Ackerman was the first in the region to use the "méthode traditionnelle" and was the only producer of a sparkling wine in the Valde Loire for forty years. In1936, when the classification system was set up, Saumur Brut was granted AOC (Appellation d'Origine Controlée) status much thanks to the work ofJean Baptiste.
In1956, Ackerman Laurance decided to merge with the Rémy Pannier group forming the leading producer of Valde Loire wines.
Tank fermented using the Charmat method, with one year ageing.
A bright pink sparkling wine with fine bubbles, delicate in the nose and elegant, with notes of strawberries and raspberries. Round and fresh palate with an intense red fruit, long finish.
